1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Lumora at booklumora.com ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Lumora is a scheduling and booking platform for independent tutors. It allows tutors to manage availability and services, and allows parents to book and pay for tutoring sessions. Lumora is a software platform only — we are not a tutoring agency and do not employ tutors.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Notify us immediately at support@booklumora.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Parents may provide student information on behalf of their children when booking sessions.

4. Tutor Responsibilities

By using Lumora as a tutor, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information about your services, availability, and pricing
• Honor confirmed bookings or provide timely notice of cancellation
• Comply with all applicable laws in providing tutoring services
• Not misrepresent your qualifications or credentials

Tutors connect their own Stripe account to receive payments. Lumora is not responsible for disputes between tutors and parents regarding session quality or outcomes.

5. Parent and Guest Responsibilities

By booking through Lumora, you agree to:

• Provide accurate contact and student information
• Pay for sessions at the time of booking
• Communicate cancellations or changes directly with the tutor

6. Payments

All payments are processed by Stripe. By completing a booking, you authorize the charge to your provided payment method. Refund policies are set by individual tutors — Lumora does not issue refunds directly. Lumora may collect a platform fee on transactions as described at the time of checkout.

7. Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform
• Interfere with the operation of the Service
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute content from the platform without permission
• Impersonate another person or entity

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Lumora does not guarantee uninterrupted access or that the platform will be error-free. We are not liable for the quality, safety, or legality of tutoring services arranged through the platform.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lumora's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid to Lumora in the three months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose a risk to other users or the platform. You may close your account at any time by contacting support@booklumora.com.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post changes on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
